The BID Foundation Leadership Network comes to Bristol, hosted by the City Centre BID, to experience the light festival in the city and focus on BIDs and the night time economy.
In the aftermath of COVID, leisure and the evening economy is an even more signficant aspect of successful towns and cities. With retail moving backwards - over 9,000 outlets have been lost since March 2020 - eating and drinking establishments have grown in number by 3.8% in the same period.
So, demand is clear, as visitors seek experiences during less frequent trips to centres, locally or on a short getaway. But obstacles remain; nightclubs are closing across the UK, resources prove difficult, and ensuring the public feel safe at night is a major challenge.
At the Leadership Network, we'll look at exemplars of the night time economy and hear from experts on what BIDs can do to support the night time sectors.
