The Institute has welcomed a new team member, Allison Herbert, CEO of Bath Business Improvement District who has joined IPM in a part-time strategic development role today.

Allison, a highly respected place leader, will work with the IPM to support The BID Foundation and to develop new products and services to help place managers and leaders make better places whilst continuing in her role in Bath.

The BID Foundation is IPM's first community of practice, networking over 80 Business Improvement District CEOs, Directors and other senior and operational staff.

As the professional body for the entire place management sector, it is important for the Institute to support the different needs of place management organisations. Allison said:

"As a BID CEO I know the valuable role The BID Foundation plays in supporting BIDs and helping them meet and exceed stakeholders' expectation, so I am delighted to join IPM as a BID practitioner."

"I'll not only help to develop the products and services BIDs need, but also work with other place management organisations, such as local councils and community groups, to ensure that they are also represented and served by IPM's professionalisation agenda".

Chair of Bath BID, David Hobdey was positive about the new role:

"this is a brilliant opportunity for Allison and for the Bath BID. Having the opportunity to expand her understanding of the wider place management agenda and to work with a team of experts in the field, will bring clear benefits to Bath and we look forward to this collaboration."
